In 2013, at the invitation of a local homeless ministry, House of Hope began sending missionaries to evangelize in the streets of San Pedro Sula, Honduras, where there is significant need among victims of trafficking and sexual commerce.  Women from House of Hope Nicaragua have been able to share valuable testimonies and practical principles through which Jesus continues to heal and transform their lives, giving hope and encouragement to the women they meet in Honduras.

In 2016, “Women of Hope” became a separate nonprofit ministry in San Pedro Sula, providing spiritual and practical help to women and girls caught in the trap of sex trafficking and prostitution.  Devotions, vocational training, and discipleship classes are offered two to three times a week.  The women learn baking, jewelry-making and sewing.  Monthly evangelistic meetings often feature testimonies shared by women who have accepted Christ and experienced life transformation by His grace through our programs.

In 2018-2019, “Women of Hope” hosted our first several mission teams from the USA, who contributed staff training, prayer ministry, Bible teaching, and medical services.

Our first GHO Medical team to Honduras saw over 600 patients from “Women of Hope” and the surrounding community.  Many of these patients heard the gospel and received prayer in the waiting rooms as well. In the photo below we are celebrating “Our Royal Identity” with a “banquet” after a week of Bible teaching in February 2019.

Many of you have graciously supported the work in Honduras.  Now mission teams are needed to come to San Pedro Sula and strengthen this vital ministry.  We especially need construction teams, as well as teams who can teach vocational skills to the women, as well as medical teams.  Contact joy@houseofhopenicaragua.com for more information.

Exciting progress is being made on the construction of the new building for Women of Hope in San Pedro Sula, Honduras!  The land is ideally located in downtown San Pedro Sula, in the heart of the district where the need is the greatest.  This new facility will be a beacon to draw more women and provide help to change lives for generations to come.

The first floor of this 3-story building will include our vocational training center, a large kitchen for our bakery, and a conference room that will also provide space for weekly discipleship meetings.  Generous donors stand ready to provide additional sewing and baking equipment as soon as we have a secure location for these expanded programs. Donations are urgently needed to complete the ground floor Click here to donate to this project (memo: “Honduras”).

Volunteer construction teams are also needed to complete this important work.  Contact joy@houseofhopenicaragua.com for more information or to schedule your mission team for Honduras.

Your prayers & contributions are transforming lives now & for the future in Honduras!
